As of June 24th, 2025, the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) has adopted a new tree protection bylaw – Bylaw No. 2435.

What does this mean for you?

Well, that depends.

In Whistler, tree cutting is regulated by both Development Permits (DPs) and the new Tree Protection Bylaw. It is important to determine which regulation applies to your situation so that you can apply for the right permit(s).
